• Plug change with pacesetter

I tried changing my plugs Sunday and I cannot for the life of me tighten number 4(middle plug on the passengers side). I cannot get the socket on the plug the whole way without it hitting the tube.
I went out and bought some offset wrenches but they still wont catch. How in the H..E..L..L are you people changing your plugs?

Bought a $10 plug changing tool off of ebay. Basically it is a plug socket, drilled out on the inside, cut-in-cross-section halfway down ... you slip it over the plug and use a wrench.

I think SLP part number 30102 would be best bet for you.

I used a spark plug socket and a wrench, or a spark plug socket and my ratchet depends on the plug.

The good thing about actually using a spark plug socket is that the rubber boot inside it will help prevent the porcelain from cracking as you torque them down.

What I did was take the end of the plug off. Just unscrew it. That gave me enough room to slip the plug socket on and I used the wrench to tighten it.

Or you can get a shorty plug.

I used a pivoting spark plug socket.

I had to go out and get a gear-ratchet for mine. Those things work great (Until you break it trying to get the bolts off a rusted rearend). The ratchet is basically open in the back so you slide the socket and ratchet all the down a rod to get to the bolt at the bottom.
