Okay, so after reading what all you guys have said and a little side research of my own I know the Borla will fit my 3.8 Firebird. However, where can I get a Borla exhaust system for my car for a good price? I was on the Borla site, I think they wanted like $950. Is that really the best I can do? My other question is how much better sounding are the Borla's vs say a less pricy Flowmaster system. I hear a lot of people brag about their 40 series and 80 series. I would like the sound, but I want it at the best price as well...

Go to LS1.com, LS1tech.com, CamaroSS.com or here on the for sale section. You can't beat it!! I got mine for $400 shipped to my door and it was in good shape. I can't promise that you will find that same price but sometimes people don't care and just want to get rid of it so thats why I got a killer deal. When I went to a dyno I heard tons of V6 with various types of ewxhaust (from Spintech, Borla, B&B, flowmaster, ect.,ect.) I am glad with what I have. The Borla and the B&B sound the bect in my opinion. I can speak from experience because I have been through so many exhuast systems and this is the one, atleast for me. I have also heard a Corsa (Scott Black's system) and It sounds pretty good. I recommend those three. I have been through flows, cutouts, Borla with variable plate sizes, Cataco's, and now headers and I really like my set up I have. I didn't like the flowmaster system a whole lot. It just didn't make music to my ears if you know whatI mean. Start slow, but to get the best possible sound I would recommend 3" catco, headers, and somesort of 3" exhaust. Period. Hope this helps, happy hunting. Having not heard B&B, or Corsa I can't comment. I do like the flows (as long as you don't rev in a parking lot). As for which series, from sound clips they sound the same to me, but the 80 has dual while 40 has single, and mine is a Delta so it sounds more mellow, little quieter. But Flows do sound hollow in the upper rpms (all of them seem to), Doesn't bother me since its the lower RPM range I like.
I'm not changing mine out anytime soon, but if you decide on the Flows get bigger piping, and the 80 Series are popular.
From what I've heard.
80 series: Louder, dual outlets (looks sweet),
40 Delta series: Mellow(er), single out (but this is a V6 anyway), very little noise on the inside while cruising. It does sound hollow on the inside, but good when outside of the vehicle (though can't comment on the 80 series-no personal experience)
Go ahead with the 80 series (though I like mine , i seem to be in the minority on this board, oh well), or B&B. Or just chuck the muffler, who says we need one anyway?!
QUestion: isn't B&B a quiet muffler?

i have a borla exhaust 3" catback sitting in the garage, it was on my ride for a month, and the stock y-pipe was rattling so i took it in and they said it was teh borla, i got a new exhaust system and it still rattled, finally we found out it was the stock y-pipe
so i'm left with a borla cat back, i lost the plates, they're 20 bucks to get new ones. but other than that, it's in mint condition
i dont care, i'll sell it cheap i need to get rid of the thing, my mom keeps threatening to throw it away if i dont sell it
email me at g00p69@aol.com if you want it
