  • Last few exhaust questions...

I have ordered pacesetter headers, catco cat, and tsp rumbler. I am still deciding between the paper gaskets or trying to find some metal ones. I know the pacesetters cna hit the stearing linkage and the transmission and the y pipe might have to be bent a little. My car is a 96 3.8. Can i just hook my o2 sensors into my new exhaust? I have heard something about the EGR not connecting right ...if it doesnt should i just weld it? I really just need all the info i can on all of this and what all some of you have done when installing this setup or what would need to be done. I am not home so i dont know if my rumbler came with hangers or not. Sorry if this is confusing. Any help is much appreciated.

the egr tube is too long so its a PITA to get it in. you might break the "hose" like it did and that cost i think 45 bucks. mine wasnt even close to the steering linkage though. the paper gaskets are working for me just fine as far as i know. and mine was touching the tranny . i didnt really think anything of it. if you have a problem with it. get a strong metal rod and hammer on the pipe w/ it so it wont touch. mind you though, the metal is strong, if anything, that part of everything is good, they used good material.

One thing I've tried and it worked is... Unbolt the EGR system from the block, bolt the hose to the EGR fitting from the header. Unbolt the thermostat housing, bolt the EGR housing back to the block and then hook the thermostat housing back. Voila! No EGR leaks. No breaking the hose.
