  • O2 Sensors Question

My SES light came on, but I think I know the problem. Correct me if I am wrong about O2 sensor failure symptoms:
Bad gas miliege - When from about 280-235mpg
Runs richer at startup and seems to get leaner.
SES light comes on at about 210.
    Decrease in performance
    54K on the OD

I know this could mean a lot of things, but I just have a feeling its the O2. Im trying to find a way to get my PCM scanned for free, or I might just have to pay the 50 bucks. Anyone near LA or Orange county want to scan it for me?

Well I got it scanned for free from this guy who always come to my place of business, anyway, its my O2's. I need to find the part # for the O2 sensors. Anyone have the data?

Even if you don't have an answer give a reply, cause I don't think anyone is reading this anyway.

Does GM still offer a 6 year/60,000 mile warranty for emissions? Or is that only on certain models?

I have an O2 laying around

It is the post-cat sensor, however.

If you need it, I would be happy to mail it to you.

I called california headquarter of Autozone, and the sale manager presidents, yada yada, said they were sued by california, beacuase they were not licenced to come out of the store and perform "Diagnostics"

I went to the dealership and asked, the servive manager said that they have a 3 year 50K warranty on emmisions.
They guy made me mad. He asked how I knew that the problem was from the O2. So ran all the syptoms by him and said I also used an Auto Tap for the code. He continued to tell me that my Auto Tap wasn't realiable or accurate, and they have to perform their own diagnostics before changing anything on the car. And told me it could be one of "400 other things wrong" For $80. SO I was like THank you and goodbye.

Does anybody know the part number for the o2 sensors on gmpartsdirect.com off hand before i ask them? Or the cheapest place to get o2 sensors. Correct me if im wrong but we have 4 o2 sensor's in our car. Do all of them need changing when these kind of symptoms occur. The reason i'm asking is i have 82k on my 96 and i don't think they have been changed previously. I'm starting to see some of the classic symptoms. But for a guy thats broke like me, $50 a peice x 4 is some money. Why can't they just be $10 a peice like my old car??? Thanks
