No back pressure from an exhaust will cause some problems. One of the things pretty much no exhaust causes is your valves to warp thus making your fuel mileage decrease and your power to decrease. I would only run the cut out when you race or want to show off, replace the nuts on the cut out with wing nuts to make it easier to replace and remove.2000 Camaro, Pewter Metallic, M5 tranny, 3.23 gears, Hard Top, <br /><br />Modifications:<br />SLP loudmouth (dual/dual tips)<br />MSD 8.5mm wires<br />K&N airfilter<br />SS hood (don\'t buy from fiberglassfabricators.com!!!)<br />Spec stage 2 clutch

Yea gotta watch out for that no backpressure thing since manifolds don't cause backpressure and tons of turbo cars run open downpipes non stop
I have a cut out before my cat. No problems use it mainly at the track but for awhile had it open all the time. With the cutout after your cat you still have tons of backpressure, I'm assume you put yours after the cat like everyone else does.00\' firebird v6 5spd<br />201rwhp ---- 230 rwtq<br />\"Everyday I grow stronger...and further from you.\"<br />WARNING: Do not take any of my comments seriously unless they are technical in nature and then only at your own risk

before the cat is good for performance and after for sound in my opinion. before will throw a code cause it will not let all the air go threw it obviously and so the cat will appear clogged or whatever. as for power, not much but it does help

As for the pre cat cut out throwing a light. Only if you drive it long enough for the computer to update itself. I drove it for 60 miles last night and no SES.00\' firebird v6 5spd<br />201rwhp ---- 230 rwtq<br />\"Everyday I grow stronger...and further from you.\"<br />WARNING: Do not take any of my comments seriously unless they are technical in nature and then only at your own risk

Well he meant the warping of the valves would decrease horsepower. Except he is full of crap. Btw cut out open I gained almost a 1mph lol
Edit: I have no muffler so the cutout only gets rid of my cat

So some1 list the pros and cons for the cut out with it being before the cat, then some1 answer the pros and cons of using the cut-out after the cat. Before:
Pro: More power
Con: Illegal
Loud as hell
After: IMO worthless, but its better then going through the muffler and it will still pass inspection in most states.00\' firebird v6 5spd<br />201rwhp ---- 230 rwtq<br />\"Everyday I grow stronger...and further from you.\"<br />WARNING: Do not take any of my comments seriously unless they are technical in nature and then only at your own risk
