Some people like k&n, others prefer slp. Since you already have the k&n then theres really no need to swap it out. They both perfrom equally well and you won't feel a difference. You might gain 1-2 hp or you might lose that much. I say stick with what you got. Now if looks is a factor then I think slp looks way better under the hood.
you can do a million and one searches on the good and bad points of each. on this message board the majority lean towards the slp, but is it that much better to replace the k&N? not unless you can sell the K&N for full price.

I've been looking at the Lingenfelter SuperTube for a while now as an alternative to the SLP. Does the SuperTube use the stock airbox? It looks that way from the pictures. If it does wouldn't it be a lot better to get a conical filter from K&N to go on the end? Also, does it flow much better than the SLP did? It looks a heck of a lot bigger than the SLP is.

 First time I've ever seen that.
Why does it use the stock airbox and not just extend down with a filter to where the SLP does?
Any reason you're not using the ram-air hood as an intake?

Because extending the filter into the wheel well is a stupid idea to begin with. It does use the stock air filter housing, there is nothing wrong with it, no need to stick the filter down where it is very dirty. The problem with the stock intake was the part that is removed. As I have said, I had a SLP and got rid of it. I like the Lingenfelter.
Regarding the ram air, the hood is not GM and the factory ram air box will not work. So I finally got a GM ram air hood, and will be selling the one in the pictures.
