• Toning down the loudmouth

I know some people tone their loudmouth's down with a dynomax muffler, but its really not too much different from the resonator that comes with the loudmouth. I have rksport headers and a catco 3" cat in front of my loudmouth, it sounds real mean but still sounds like crap at 4000rpms. Anyone know a solution besides a dynomax that can make it sound throaty at all rpms? Would a flowmaster muffler work? Thanks.

Get a Borla XR-1 Bullet, the part# is 40085. Get it at Jegs, I got mine 2 days after I ordered it this past week, every place else says they're on backorder. It runs about $105, but it's a lot better quality than the Dynomax bullets. I'm getting mine installed as soon as my new tips come in, I'll let you guys know how it tames the LM noise.

good deal....my main concern isnt how loud it is, i just want to get rid of that nasty rice sound at high rpm.

the dynomax does help a bit more than i thought, at first. maybe it just needed to break in a little. It has me completely satisfied... its kinda like, if you want ultimate throaty, you cant have loud, and vice versa, if you want loud, it aint gona be throaty, unless u find the v6 miracle muffler that comes with two extra pistons....

it does a pretty good job in my opinion, i have sound clips up on the exhaust forum with it... but keep in mind that that was like 5 hours after the operation so it hadnt broke in yet, i love the new sound. quieter but still sets off alarms, a good bit deeper too. and the rasp up top... well ok you know how its like a really violent vibrating high pitched noise? now its a bit "softeR" it doesnt have that violent vibrating sound its more of a continuous smoother softer LESS high but still high pitched sound lol...hopefully that makes sense, in a nutshell it makes it sound a good 16% better worth it to me.

I would say use the Moroso Spiral flow.. it's cheaper than the Borla and has just as good a tone and better flow. Just throwing in my .02
