I would like to get the B&B but it would be better if I could get some less expensive. I have been looking at these 4 brands of cat-backs, flowmaster, edelbrock, dynomax, and magnaflow. Which of the 4 would you chose and why?
I really need some ideas for exhaust so please reply. I hear pro's and con's for each but which of them is the best.
i like my flowmaster 80s series, good tone, loud enough if thats what your looking for to me its one of the better sounding exhast set ups, but i have more htan just the muffler i think to makeing any exhaust sound good is the 3 inch i pipe and 3 inch inlet on the muffler after that to me they start to soudn similar in some respects, dont really know of any cons. i am very pleased with mine, but some people dont like flows personaly its all about personal preference what one person likes the other wont so there you have it in a nut shell
no fate but what we make
http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/748167/1

Dude i thought this was cleared up... Magnaflow
Tons people have a magnaflow and love it, including myself.
<-- Deleted text --> I don't like His opinion <-- modified and deleted text -->
Stop bashing other peoples ****.... Personally I think your flowmaster sounds like *** , it sounds like a deisel at idle and a dirt bike at rev. But I wouldn't normally tell you that it sounds like ****, I would say "Its OK" because I'm not an *******. Some flowmaster sounds ok to me as well, but when you see one taken apart, you'll notice it is not very free flowing at all.
Please just stop bashing other peoples car and exhausts, I am asking nicely. :D

You barely revved it. Got any new clips where you revved it higher or one where you are on the move?

I'm glad to see that im not the only one who likes to bash on tony :D . Man, we go through the same thing at sffba. Tony always trying to act like an expert, and then turns out he knows almost nothing....ok end of bashing :D (sorry tony, had to do it lol). I think the flowmasters sound pretty good, but I haven't heard the other 3, so I cant give an opinion on those.
Sorry for the editing but that was a little over the line.
PLEASE NOTE these are people's opinions

I love my B&B! Was apprehensive becasue of the price but the first time I started car up and heard the "bark" I knew I made the right choice. I haven't heard any others for comparison, though but I can't imagine a six sounding better than mine with B&B. It's gotta be high flowing because I get the same pops and gurgles when I let off the gas (albeit a little quieter) that I get with my SLP Loudmouth (highest flowing LS1 cat-back) on my SS.

I never did bash it, I just basically said in as few words (or letters) that I don't care for it. Also I've heard it personally and I thought it was OK, not bad, not good...there are betters. No flowmasters aren't the greatest. Oh and my comment (directly quoted from that thread)

quote:
Originally posted by 99Camaro99: ok here's the difference. It sounds more hollow than flowmasters. I like the revs however. Also at idle it sounds more like a hum (no I'm not talking about that whine in the file :D ). The Flows actually gurgle a bit on the way down from the revs and at idle it lops a bit (sounds like a mild cam). I'm not putting down Magnaflow, it's an OK muffler, but IMO there are better choices in a similar price range (Flowmaster, Dynomax, Edelbrock, etc...)

No bashing, just my opinion.
Oh and the group a**hole from sffba decided to post here! Hi jsm

Yeah and that was my opinion of him! :D
Im sorry I just can't stand people with such strong opinions who don't really know one way or the other.
And yeah I didn't rev it much, but what do you expect to hear from a v6 in nuetral. I tried to make a clip of me driving it, but it didn't work well.

ok someone doesn't want to let this die. Everyone is allowed to have their own opinion, I have mine. However, if you notice that I don't become biased in my opinions when it comes to technical information. If I was heavily opinionated and biased I would have said "Oh yea FLOWMASTER is the best" (since I own it) and I would say that well everything else sucks. NO, I DON'T DO THAT. I'm telling you that out of the mufflers I've heard and what I think about them. Like I said before, muffler systems are like women, it's all about personal preference. Chill dude!

quote:
Originally posted by ChronoGN: Whats a best performing exhaust? I'm thinking about getting a SLP Loudmouth...

the mufflers really just change the sound of your car, the diameter of the piping is where the horsepower is found. If you plan on going NA 2.5" should be fine but if you're going for forced induction or nitrous, get a 3" catback. As for me I did 2.75 because I wasn't sure which I wanted. After I added a catback to my muffler I dropped .1 in my ET and increased my speed up 1.5MPH
Hey guys. For starters I’ve always been a big car guy, I love all types of cars and can appreciate all types of engineering. I’ve always been a Chevy...
