  • question about a new "i" pipe

I've read that a 3" "i" pipe has a significant part in increasing sound to the exhaust. I just bought a flowmaster 80 series a few weeks ago. 2.5" in/out. Any normal muffler place wouldnt have a problem putting on a 3" pipe to adapt to my 2.5" muffler right? Also, what kind of "i" pipe should I get? Any links available?

A muffler shop can make a 3" I pipe work with an adapter. Dynomax sells em for about 100 bucks.

shortdog, why didnt you tell him about a stock Z i pipe? i know its only 2 3/4, but it is worth all of that $16.01 i spent on it. i have a friend with flows, i am trying to get him to get that stock Z i pipe. when i went to an exhaust shop i was told a new 3 in i pipe was going to be $135.

Nino, I didn't even think about it. Yea pinball, you can go with a 2.75" V8 fbody I pipe (like Nino and I) for alot cheaper.

You can go to a junk yard and get one off a newer (93+) V8 fbody like Nino did or look into a local fbody message board in your area and post what you're looking for. That's the route I went and got mine from a guy for free. ;)
