  • is 2.5 big enough from the manifolds

The local muffler shop can only bend pipe as large as 2.5 inches. I was thinking of having it made right from the manifold, no cat, right back to the rear section. The rear section I have is a flowmaster 80 series that was on my bros trans am. I have his 3 inch intermediate pipe, but I have read that a bunch of people have had problems with it rubbing around the rear axle, and just don't want the hassle. So is the 2.5 big enough???

2.5 inches is more than enough. Alot of guys on here like the 3 inch exhaust but thats not to say that its needed. To each his own. If you were running over 400 horses then you might be concerned but I highly doubt you are so you will be fine. Also is the pipe the shop is bending going to be mandrel bent ? That will make a difference in both sound and performance. And if youre completely removing the cat I hope you like to hear her pop, because it will be doing alot of it.And last but not least youre going to be going from the y pipe back not the manifold.

    Later,
    Mike
