i'm looking to get the magnaflow cat for my 3.8 but i've heard that it gets raspy at high rpm's? is this just cause of the engine itself or the system? can anyone recommend anything else for the 3.8 ? thanks

Oh hell no! the LM is very raspy. the Texas rumbler is better but can still get a little rasp on the high rpms as well. I have heard the magnaflow is actually pretty good but i havent personally heard it so i cant be sure. i have the magnaflow catback and a magnaflow/carsound cat. It sounds good, i mean yea there is that unavoidable rasp above 3000 RPM's or so but i like it. thanks guys, i'm looking for a medium volume exhaust with a nice tone. something that will last too. i'm not doing headers right now(don't have the money) but i might at some point. suggestions? thanks again.Comment

Get the magnaflow, it's a great exhaust sounds really good idle and up till 3-4000 RPM which I personally have never heard a 3.8 which the rasp was removed to my liking because I'm picking. The magnaflow is a great exhaust though you can't avoid the rasp unless you get a turbo ;) or something like that.
