  • Question about SLP Loudmouth, pipe size, and if it fits on V6

All of these sites say it's for LS1... I plan on buying a '97 Camaro. Will this kit fit on a '97 just fine? You'd think they'd specify or something...

    http://www.lmperformance.com/712/2.html

Also... they say 3.5" slash tips or 2.5" dual tips, but they don't say the size of the whole system. I've heard that 3.0" systems are pretty amazing. Do you guys know the size of this system... if it's not 3.0 where can I get one?

    Thanks!

      What is your problem?

BTW, I resized it in photoshop so the "3.5 inch slash tips" were actually 3.5 inches in photoshop, then compared the pipes. They look to be onle 2"... what the heck? I've heard this system is one of the best.... I thought it'd be bigger.

      Anyone?

        http://www.lmperformance.com/2810/13.html

this is my problem right here. Click the v6 section of lmperformance and find the exhaust for your car. Then read about it...

        "SLP Stainless Steel Exhaust Systems:
Are street legal in ALL 50 States.
        Offer easy, bolt-on installation.
        Offer fuel economy improvement.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Have mandrel bent 409 stainless steel, 3" diameter intermediate pipes and 304 stainless steel high luster tailpipes with round angle-cut ends. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
        Limited Lifetime Warranty.
Up to 25 additional horsepower and improved 0-60 MPH and 1/4 mile performance. "

Btw, loudmouth seems to be 98+ for v6. However; I'm sure it would fit regardless. May not be a direct bolt on but I'm sure an exhaust shop can put it on no problem. Come on man read a little thats all I'm asking.

Alright alright, so I missed the bottom. I always try to read because I hate when people just up and ask a question without researching first. Trust me I looked, I just missed the 3" part on the bottom. BTW, I still didn't find a V6 section and all you did was link to the one with the different tips.

Thanks... I hope it will. Just keep in mind I'm a newbie, and I find a lot of this confusing... it just takes time.. as I start installing things and learning hopefully I'll be a little more aversed in the world of cars.

AHA! Found it... finally: "V6 models require Install Kit 30045 to modify system to fit." That's another 70 bucks or so, but who cares, this system will rock lol.

Like I said it may not bolt up directly but if you buy the catback and take it to a shop they WILL be able to put it on. Click home on LMperformance and look at the left hand side where it has all the cars listed. There should be atleast 2 v6 fbody sections.

Call them at Texas-Speed and they can tell you everything you need to know about the Rumbler. It is a full 3" system, but you need to either get the SLP exhuast install kit, or find a shop to make you a 3" "S" pipe (mandrel bent or a "U" pipe cut in the middle and rewelded) and fabricate hangers. There is no V6 section because it is a V8 exhuast that can be fitted to our cars.

Agreed, the Rumbler will help you get rid of some of that V6 rasp! A quick search of this section will shows tons of therads about the Rumbler, and how it ourperforms the LM.

I searched the whole site... no topics on rumblers in this section that I could find, and only a few with very little information throughout the whole site. Perhaps I'm not searching the right area, but I didn't find much.

Please tell me all you can about the rumbler and what it does. Does it improve performance and/or gas milage or does it just sound nice?

Also, how would I combine a rumbler with a loudmouth exhaust? It looks like the rumbler would have to completely replace the last part of the loudmouth piping...

Also... I think the rumbler's tips are quite ugly.... Could I make it so that it has a loudmouth catback with rumbler exhaust and loudmouth tips? What would be the advantage of this?

I thought true dual exhaust sounded horrible on V6s.

There's three or four threads still on the first page of this section. But the run-down is: 3" mandrel bent pipes, aluminized steel, an 18" bullet muffler to help with the rasp, dual tail pipes. $225 without tips, or $300 with the smoked tips we have in stock currently. Very similar to the LM, but instead of their resonator, the bullet muffler is there to kill the nastiness.

No. buy the Rumbler without tips, then pick out whatever tips you like, get them welded on at an exhaust shop.
