Borla rattle???

I've had my borla for about 6 months and over the last 3 or so its developed a rattle, heck it sounds like the muffler is bouncing up and hitting the underside of the car every time you go over a bump. I brought it back where they installed it and they say the brackets are fine. So tonite when it was cold I got under it, I could push up on it and that is exactly what it is doing. The brackets do look attached and nothing wrong, they just dont seem stiff enough I guess. Has anyone had similiar problems and if so what did you to to remedy them?? this is on an 01 firebird.

Mine would rattle in the driveway when we'd push the rear of the car back & forth. While my buddy was rattling the hell out of the car, I looked underneath and noticed a loose bolt on the sway bar. A loose connection somewhere may be your problem.

i had that problem. Check to see if they welded the pipe to where the cat comes out or if it is just clamped. Mine sounded bad until they welded it on. hope that helps

thanks guys = brought it back to the exhaust shop and had them weld the brackets nice and tight and voila no more rattles!! I still take the speed bumps much too seriously! I cant imagine how ground effects and lowering springs would be. I drive downtown every day and its just a warzone.

I am probibly puting mine on some day soon, is there anything I should avoid to keep it from rattiling? I figured I would have it clamped on and in 6months when I need brakes get it welded if I thought it was necessary.

I had a local shop install it for me and the workmanship had a 1 year warranty = of course the borla has a lifetime warranty through borla. I didnt have any problems with it the first 4 or 5 months and then the rattle just got louder and louder until it literally sounded like the entire rear of the car was going to fall off. Brought it back had them weld it on for free. Have not had a problem with it rattling yet.
