• HELP!! #&)$^#@&

I started my car up today and I thought I heard pop corn cooking but ya know what, I walked outside and the entire damn exhaust system is rattling like a mofo. Sounds EMBARASSING! How can I fix this? (keep in mind I can't lift the car up and I have limited tools)

Either your pipes are touching each other, your hangers are loose and/or your heat shield came loose.

what if it doesn't do it all the time. I came back from going for a quick ride and all of a sudden it wasn't rattling...then it started again. I'm confused. It only happens at certain RPMs

Could possibly be that your catalytic converter catalyst is breaking up.

99Camaro, if you do find out it's your cat, this will be the perfect time to get the catco highflow cat.

It just started rattling out of the blue? No warning signs, like a tiny vibrating/rattling noise that developed into this? Try swaying your exhaust by hand to see if you can duplicate it.

If you can try to reach over to where your Cat Conv. is and knock on it a little, with car turned off, of course. If you hear rattling, it's your cat then.

I was thinking of that. I swore I was done modding this car but who knows. BTW, how about running NO CAT? However, if I do anything I'd have to wait until the end of the semester. It used to happen slightly at exactly 1100 RPMs and that was it. Now it's creeping into my idle range of around 650rpms and it sounds nasty...rumble rumble...CLING CLING CLING

that is the way t ogo, and since you live in florida, i really dont think that they give two craps about emissions...i know a cop who knows i have no cat and he doesnt blink twice over it... just have a guy "gut" it for you or just take out the insides and forget about a bypass, just use the cat shell and take out the honeycomb crap :D :D
