    went to the exhaust shop today.... i got questions.

    just recently i noticed my car just falling on its face come around 3500-5500 rpms...

    i knew it was the cat since it was rattleing like a mofo..

    so today i brought it into the shop.. the cut off the cat.. its hollow???...and they replaced it with a 3inch strait pipe.

    my question is.. where did the insides of the cat go?

    do you think they got stuck in the muffler? its hard to tell of any gains or losses with the new pipe in there due to this hot *** humid weather.

    exhaust tone is same.. didnt get any louder or quieter...

    any explainations would be great.

    well if it was hollow then you wouldnt really notice anything. it probably finally broke up and went threw your exhaust. so yes, its probably still got some in you muffler

      Maybe if you bought it from a previous owner they did the "almost a cat" mod? It's basically where you beat the crap out of the inside of the cat and weld it back on so it's basically a straight pipe that looks like a cat.

        when you hollow out your cat you put a pipe threw it, you dont leave it gutted

                When my cat went, it all went through my muffler and got stuck up in there. It was very annoying. Pieces were flying out of the muffler.
