I've done it. Actually, I am using a 99+MAF sensor(the one without the metal post). I also use a ZZP mini-AFC. You would also need an autotap to tune it. I made a custom 3.5" aluminum housing, and I am using an LS1 TB modified by ZZP and they supplied me with an adapter plate.
I noticed that going to a bigger housing I had to richen it up to get the idle Ltrims inline. But at higher RPMS it tended to run a little rich. That is because the miniAFC increase by certain percentage, which would work perfectly if the sensor were linear. But it isn't. I luckily have it close enough to work. And since I am supercharged, that little extra fuel helps me.
