  • small leak in header??

i got my headers put on the other day and i think there is a really small leak on the passenger side, but im not sure. at low rpm's, when pushing the gas, there is like a spitting noise coming from the engine. will a small leak effect the the engine and would it seal up after time with all the carbon build up???

    thanks

i dont know what it will do but its smart to find the leak and fix it. tighten the bolts more and look at the y-pipe connection. you need to fix it instead of letting it go. if the leak is anywhere close to something, it could affect it.

Just go back and tighten everything...easy as that.

yeah i tightened the bolts and so did the guy who put them in. i used good metal gaskets too, so i dont know what the heck is going on, i think i will just get another set of gaskets and try it again next week. We were but trying to figure out were it was coming from, for like 30 minutes, but its hard to see or exactly hear it.

If tightening don't work you may have to take them off and clean where they meet the block and the gaskets. Make sure nothing is stuck there.
