Sweet jesus did this topic go WAY off ;)

Anyhow, I have the dyno results of the intake. Just to set the stage, the "before" dyno run was taken about 6 months ago. The test car had a Borla Cat Back system, a Jet Power Module, a removed MAF screen, a K&N drop-in filter, and a modified air box (bottom cut out to allow more air flow). The only mod since was my intake system.

As you can see, the dyno reveals several interesting points. First off, the dyno does not appear to like the ignition system on this camaro very much, as both the before and after dyno graphs drop out at around 5300RPM. Secondly, it appears my intake makes more power between 3-3500 RPM and then from 4500RPM on up (it looks as though it might make as much as 8-9WHP at 5700 RPM, however since the before graph falls off, it's impossible to say for sure) however his previous modified airbox made a touch more TQ in the 3500-4500 midrange area (which isn't terribly suprizing considering the dynamics of airflow through a shorter intake system). Another thing to note is how much smoother the graph is with the new intake -- not nearly as peaky.

I'd really like to get a STOCK 3.8 test car on the dyno and do a "before and after" back to back so I can have a little better compairison, but until I have some voulenteer's, this will have to do.

I am aware of that now -- and as long as I have a test car, I can make anything work ;)

Have you seen a 98 3.8 and could you make it work with that model year?

          Nice look though!

                Stencil,

I have exhaust, but stock intake. Will that work for you? If so, I was coming down from SLC to Colorado soon anyway, and could do it as soon as this Friday. :D Let me know.

I don't see how it could flow better than an aftermarket lid and one of our air dam CAI systems. It's got a near 45* bend, no direct airflow, and its made of metal which heat soaks. I always thought people used these kind of setups because of a lack of space under the hood, not for sheer functionality. But really, do a dyno test on your CAI then do one on an entire Whisper setup which is what most of us have now. I'll be as eager as anyone to buy your kit if it is indeed a proven outperformer.
