im gonna get a high flow cat and a cut-out for my car. I was wondering what kind u guys use?? and where is the cheapest place to buy it from?? they all look the same to me. dont really want to spend the money on an electric one. any help is appreciated
i dont have a cutout yet but ive been looking at one from Quicktime Perfermance.
I know you said that you didnt wanna spend the money on an electric cutout but it sure would be easier than climbing under your car every time you want to use it. Besides if a cop pulls up behind you, you can close it with just a flick of the switch ;)
here's the site if you're interested: http://www.quicktimeperformance.com/qtec_main.htm
The QTEC just goes on the cutout. You have to already have the cutout installed. You can buy it packaged with a Flowtech cutout, but it's the same type as the one on TByrne.
I am getting a electric motor at mccord and a cut-out at thunderracing. I total agree with 94firebird, cause if a cop is behind you or near you. You can always close it, and plus it will sound louder at night just because its quieter. And its alot harder to spot cops at night, so I suggest to get an electric one to just be safe. Cause you don't want the hassle of getting a fix-a-ticket.
i was told by someone that with this cutout(jc whitney), you can adjust your tone. so, on the track fully open but on regular road partially open for desired sound. I don't know how dash control wire works. it's pretty cheap and moving lever seems a lot easier than unbolting screws. My cousin might get this for his firebird.
