  • Time for headers

I did the search but couldn't find a specific enough answer to my question. I'm looking at getting headers for my car as my next mod. I decided to hold on the N2O til maybe April. Anyways, I'm not sure what kind of headers to get. So far I've only really heard of the RK Sports and Pacesetters. What kind should I get. I'm looking for whichever is going to give me the most power. I'm limited to about $500ish dollars. What kind of gains could I see with them. One more question is about pulleys. It seems like they should be pretty cheap and frees up some HP but what are downsides to pullies. I've heard they'll kill your alternator, make daily driving a little rougher, and mess with the engine in the long run because of the harmonic balance of the smaller pullies of some yada yada yada stuff. This car is a daily driver for me and I don't want any changes to affect it's daily driver-ability in a negative way. Thanks in advance for your input.

I don't have Headers, but I will say that if you plan on running N20, I'd make sure I had a nice CAI, Headers and a free flowing exhaust first. Get your engine breathing well first before you install some heavy mods.
The only place I heard of headers for our cars os RK Sport, and they cost too much for my blood sweat and language. I once posted an ad on http://www.fbody.com/classif/ before. I got a response from a guy that told me he could get me a set of headers for $280.00, he just needed a Money Order ASAP, and he wouldn't tell me where he is getting them from. I had that eeriee feeling that I would've gotten the good'ol screw if I did that, so I respectfully declined.

Hey Matt, they are still making the 3.4L V6 headers, it just takes them 3 months to produce them. Check out our site for V6 hearder info.

I have the ceramic coated Pacesetters and like them. I agree with Southern94 though that their flanges leave something to be desired...could use a little custom work.

What does the ceramic coating do to the headers? Who makes headers besides RKSport and Pacesetter if they got 'em?
