  • Need help quick!!!

Ok, I got the gasket for my egr tube to the headers and when I was positioning it fit in the bung on the header I broke the top of where the tube comes out of. It split open at the top.

This is what I did. I got an exhaust patch kit. Put the screen around the tear and put the goop over it. let it dry for awhile and the air came out the back. So I did it all around with a couple of coats and then topped it off with some copper rtv. (I'm anal) I started it up and then I could'nt feel any air from it or from where I put the new gasket.

Would it be hot air coming out? I do hear a tick, but it comes front the top of the engine.

Do you think it will hold? Should I buy another egr tube or what?

you have to buy the part the egr tube connects to to get the tube and i think it was 45bucks.

it should be hot air coming out if its leaking from that tube. i guess time will only tell if it will hold.

Well, I think it is holding for now. Man, I smeared that stuff on there real good and finished with rtv. I also put the gasket on the header to the egr and I don't feel any air coming out either.

Also it sounds like the tick is coming from up top. What could it be.
