Just picjed up the new edition of GM hi tech(oct 2002). It was a gif with se[t edition of popular hot rodding and low and behold in the back there is an article about V6's.(3.8L that is)
The article covers throttle body mods. They detial that a company now bores and hones the TB/MAF unit and reprograms the maf to work with the stock comeputer but boosts flow by over 100CFM. The recalibration keeps the engine from running lean( a plus for us guys without the ability to tune yet)b/c of more air coming in. GMHT dynoed the car and it showed a gain of 6RWHP and 13 ft/lbs of torque at the RW at max power. The gains in torque down low were unbeleviable. it jumped from 166 ftlbs at 2000RPM all the way up to 201 ftlbs and the HP curve was up all over averagine a 10HP jump all the way across the curve!
just thoght this was cool
