Gots a question... just how loud is the SLP Loudmouth exhaust? Been thinking about getting that for my car, just worried about the whole noise issue. Also, do any of you think there would be a loss of low-end pressure going with this setup? (This would be on a 99 Trans Am, asked the guys at LS1.com, just wanted some opinions from names I recognize here)
Thanks
2000 3.8 is gone... 1999 Trans Am is here!<p>SLP lid, CAI, Smooth Bellows, Loudmouth exhaust, Hotchkis STB
The loudmouth is basically a cutout that exits at the rear of the car. It is extremely free flowing and the most free flowing of all ls1 catbacks (something like 2200cfms compared to 1300 at the most for the others)
It is loud but I dont think it is *THAT* loud.
Honestly, if it didnt come on my car when I got it, i'd probably just spend the $150 for an electric cutout as it is essentially the same thing.
I have the Loumouth on my 3.4L V6 and it is a lot louder than our WS6 or C5 at idle due to the new cam. Above 3K RPMs though, the WS6 (with longtubes and Loudmouth) and C5(with Longtubes, X-pipe and Borla over-axle pipes) are both MUCH louder.
The Loudmouth is a good investment...especially price vs. quality.

Dude, I can give you advice from experience, get the Loudmouth, you will LOVE it!
With a basically stock setup it is loud but you do get used to it. Driving through a parking garage you will set off alarms. Your gas mileage will suffer because the sound of WOT blasts will be addictive. Only problem is you will tend to intimidate would-be "contenders".
The Loudmouth and a lid were my first mods. With just those mods in my '00 SS I had no problem beating a friend's '01 (with the LS6 intake) Z28.
Get some headers and high flow cats and you will scare the crap out of people!
Some people with A4s complain about "drone" at highway speed that is NOT a factor with an M6 (even with 4.10s). Plus, with an M6 you can pop the car into neutral and coast past cops to eliminate unwanted attention.

I say go for the loudmouth. Louder is always good. And it looks great too. I would recomend to spring for the quad exhaust loud mouth that comes with the rear skirt. But if not you can get the regular loudmouth on sale now at thunderracing.com for $279
Ive heard one in person on a V6 around town (not a board member, odd enough). It was no louder than a flowmaster at idle, but had some good tone as he took off. I didnt get to hear it long or at WOT but it didnt sound bad to me.
I just bought flowmasters like a month ago. After hearing all of this I'm so torn! What should I do? Sell the Flows and get the Loudmouth?? It sounds like it would be worth it, literally.

I did a search onthe loudmouth some time ago and I could've sworn that the feedback for the V6's wasn't good (at least the 3.8) Am I missing something??
Maybe I'll just do another search and read more carefully
