Im just going out to my car one morning before work and omg soon as i start to move it sounds liek my entire exhuast just fell off and is dragging ont he ground but i have no idea what it is, its right under the passenger side floor bored which my guess would be the cat.
Could the cat be busting up inside or just rattling on something? Why now if it is?
It is probably one of the heat shields on your exhaust manifolds. Mine rattles every now and then. Mainly when I turn the AC on(rattles a little then goes away). It usually only rattles when I'm setting and idling or when I just pulling out. I thought it was my cat, but after putting the car on stands and listening around the exhaust line, I finally followed the rattle up to one of my heat shields. Sucks. I hate it when it does it when I'm setting in traffic. I'm going to get some headers soon, so that should take care of the problem. :D
Mine just started to rattle too, mainly when starting up and at higher rpms. But mine is coming from the left side, near the muffler. I think it's the heat shield. Sucks because the muffler is not all that loud, so it doesn't cover up the rattle much.
Ok nevermind, my brother looked under the car and there was this huge stick caught between my cat and the 3inch I pipe. That was what was making all the rattling sound.
