I was told that it decreases temperature like 30% and will result in more hp is this true? If say the headers and intake was coated?

Hmmm, that is an interesting idea...

you would want to port & polish the intake before doing that. I dunno how thick the coating it, but you would need to mill off that or more (hey, while your at it, might as well go aggressive).

But yeah, if it really did lower intake temps, it could increase hp.

u could coat the bottom of the intake on the side that faces the camshaft valley and not have to worry about polishing the inside.

The only thing it will do is reduce heat. I know the intake will like the reduced heat but im not sure if its worth that much of a gain. Headers will not notice a difference because headers like to be hot. It helps scavage the exhaust gases out faster when the exhaust is hot.

It doesnt actually reduce the heat on the headers but keeps the heat in and out of the engine compartment which in turn keeps the exhaust gases hotter and the engine cooler which results in more hp. Plus it looks really nice :D

Car Craft had a test on jet hot coatings. Turns out Dynomax has two identical headers, one painted, one jet-hot coated. To give you and idea of the difference:

              Jet hot: $200 more
              Painted header temperature: 520(!) degrees
              jet hot temp: 198 degrees
Painted header paint life: about 10 mins. (flaked off)
              jet hot life: lifetime warranty
painted header color (after flaking off): rust
jet hot color: silver, almost chrome look

Hope that gives you an idea. Personally, I think it's well worth it.

my heads are milled .020 and my upper intake is ported and polished, will having the jethot coating affect anything on my parts? can jethot coat the intake just on the outside and if they do coat the inside will it affect the performance from me having my intake ported polished, will i need to get it reported and repolished?

I have been just informed that jethot only externally coats the upper intake so i wont have any problems with it being ported and polished.

Where are you finding this jethot coat? On Line somewhere?
Not a problem, just a challenge...
