  • Dual or Single

I have been searching for a while and found that the Dynomax Turbo muffler is quiet at idle and louder when u give it gas. I was wondering if this was true? I am wanting something loud but i dont really want flowmasters cause everyone has em. I am one of those guys that want to be different and still sound great. Also, i have heard that single exhaust sounds better on v6's because the sound has less pipe to travel through. Should i go with the single outlet or dual outlet?? Thanks

after a few months that noise will get old and you may doubt
whether it was a good thing to do. A pushrod v-6 will never have the sound you want...it just isn't there. I laugh when 4cyl honda
and others with a wide outlet muffler go by as the sound is more like a lawnmower than a sports car.

So you want to be different with your exhaust? I'm sorry but I think that is pretty lame. Honestly who cares if you have an exhaust somebody else has. Listen to the soundclips, decide on what you like, then make your decision.

What do you have against flowmasters? I have the duals and high flow cat setup and it sounds great. It's got this low rumble at idle and really mean at wot. It's exactly what I was looking for but if you want to be different then that's up to you.

Just don't put on like one 4" glasspack that'll look so cheap and ricey. If you have duals people might think it's the v8. :D

How does the flowmaster muffler sound by itself?

Im with him. You dont see the exhaust so who cares if you put a 4 in glass pack that looks cheap, if it sounds good and runs good do it.

alot of people dont like flowmasters on our cars becuase they just get the muffler. no muffler with the stock piping will sound good. the cat backs do sound good though. but you have to remember it is a v6 and it will sound like a v6. imo the best cat backs out there are the slp lm and the tsp rumbler.

Yeah but I live in the city so it's real hard to find a race. As long as it won't embarass me when the occasional ricer pulls up (which by the way are extremely slow here in chicago 80's civics and cavaliers mostly) I'm fine. Sure I would want the v8 but the insurance and gas would kill me since I'm 18.

I really liked dual exhaust and the sound is awesome. Anyway I have to find some ss badges... ;)

I wanted to be different with mine. It turned out alright.

IMO, the dynomax sounds like ****. My freind has it on his car and it sounds like a honda civic.

I like my Dynomax. Doesn't sound like a Honda at all, even before all the engine work.

Well yeah there's a ****load of ricers here, when I pulled into autozone today like half the cars parked there were riced out. Across the street there was a geo 4 door painted bright yellow with what looked like spray paint and in the parking lot there was like an early 80s honda with stickers and a wing. Ugh. It's harder then you think to find a ricer that's acctually worth racing around here. And when I came out some ricers in some orange pos came out and were checking out the duals (they're like 4" tips I think) on my car and I heard one say "damn that **** must be fast". :D

The previous owner put in like blue leather seats and belt pads, blue steering wheel cover, blue shift knob, hood scoop on the roof, and neon pedals so I must look like a ricer too. I took off the steering wheel cover though, that was a little too much.
