  • Two LONG pipes?

    Ok...picture this...

A whole exahaust system that is just:

Headers contected to two long pipes running to the back of the car...no cat or muffler.

**** emmisions laws...don't have to worry about it.

What kind of sound and power gains are we talking here?

Well, this is what I've experienced:
    I've got a 1972 chevelle with a 350 in it.
Initially when I put it on the road I just took 3 inch pipes 2 feet long and bolted them to the headers and connected summit turbo mufflers to the other side.
    It worked fine.
Later on when I was ready for inspection I yanked that off and went with a 2.5 inch true dual with a h pipe american thunder flowmaster system.
I found more power with this set up.

As for a v6 with just straight pipes, no cat, and no muffler you would lose a lot of torque and power.
Don't bother in my honest opinion
