  • Exhaust Rattle

My exhaust is making a rather lound.... not to mention annoying rattle/knock. It seems to be comming from the CAT. In the event I have to replace it how much I be looking at as far as cost goes? And do you think it is most likely the CAT going out. Wearing gloves I have put my hand on the exhaust lines to try and stop them from rattling to no avail, it does seem to be comming from inside the CAT.

Yea, it should be your Cat.. i just posted message on fbody.com yesteday askign bout that and http://www.fbody.com/cgi-bin/v6/read.cgi?msgid=49095

well u can read replies but cat should be clogged or close to it.. and if u have under 80k miles on ur car heard you could take to dealer to replace but i dunno id ratehr get hi-flow one so doesnt happen again and also get more power out of hi-flow one.

I don't know if its the cat or not.
My exhaust has always had this little rattle, I think it's just one of the heat sheilds.
It only rattles every once in a while, and it made the noise before and after I got a new high flow cat and 3" exhaust.

Definatly not the heat shield, it is without a doubt comming from the inside.
