There is no reason to do headers until you do your exhaust. Put your catback and an intake on and then do the headers. Also putting headers on is a pita. Most people end up having trouble geting the stock bolts out and somethimes end up breaking them.2001 Arctic White Firebird With Black Drop Top

3:42 Gears
Zexel LSD
BMR upper A-Arms
Trans Am exhaust with 3\" I-pipe and cutout
Modified intake
Mecham Hood
Trans Go shift kit
Making rear control arms and panhard

To answer your actual question, yes, the headers are designed to fit right up to your stock cat. Of course you do have to cut the Y pipe...but they did design it that way.1998 M5 3.8 Mystic Teal Camaro
Flowmaster exhaust, Pacesetter headers, 3\" cat, 3\" S-pipe, whisper lid, ram air, Spec Stage 1 clutch, Poly Trans mount, Walbro 255LPH.
