I went to a nearby muffler shop and had a barely used 40 series put on. It's only a single outlet so I had it dumped after the muffler, it only cost me $50 so I figured it was a pretty good deal. My problem is that it's too quiet, I thought Flow's were supposed to be one of the loudest mufflers for our cars? I think it might be my cat, I have 104,000 miles on it! When I rev it there is a rattle coming from under the car. Any info on how to make it louder, or what the rattle is, would be greatly appreciated, thanx.

try this--if it still sounds bad, it's your cat :D if it's loud as a mofo, then it's the muffler. and if it isn't the cat and you still want the muffler back on, go get the guy to weld it back on--he MIGHT charge you $10-$15.
I have 80 series on my 3.4L and if you go to the flowmaster web site go look at the little chart after clicking on the muffler. look at the 80's and then the 40's the 80 is louder! sounds good on mine

It loud oh one more thing the 3.4L sounds alot deeper then the 3.8L that makes a big difference. My buddy has the 3.8L and mine sounds alot better
