• Dynomax Super Turbo Installed!

Well, I finally (after half a year) had it installed!

BEFORE:
Clear Image Automotive headers, 2.5" out Random Technology cat, stock intermediate pipe, 2.5" in/out Flowmaster 40 Series muffler, single "stealth" (hidden) turndown tailpipe behind left tire.

AFTER:
Clear Image Automotive headers, 2.5" out Random Tech. cat, 2.5" mandrel-bent Dynomax I-pipe, 2.5" in/dual 2.5" out Dynomax SuperTurbo muffler, and turndown tailpipes.

I had my exhaust guy keep the tailpipes tucked up and slash-cut the ends, so you don't even see them. It's sweet. I'll get some pictures eventually.

The sound is good. It's not the same kind of sound as the Flowmaster by any means really, but it sounds great under accelleration - no rice, smooth, loud.

It's still breaking in of course (it was just put on Tues. afternoon), so I may add further comments in a month or two.

Oh, and for those curious (and too lazy to check the link in my sig) about my intake mods, I have an SLP CAI.

And I do have a couple of dents in my exhaust that I need to get fixed sometime - one in the Y-pipe, and one in the I-pipe. We'll see if it sounds any better after I get those pulled.

No SES light, folks. No smoke or mirrors, either.

so thats what now? 2? ;)

anyways, grats on the new exhaust system. I've heard the Dynomax system myself today on a FireBird that was passing through town (stopped @ the gas station and we got talking). Sounded pretty nice

I put Dynomax Super Turbos on my Impala SS. I liked how deep it was, but not excessivly loud.
I would like a Dynomax system on my Camaro now. The Dynomax catalog only list systems for V8s. I assume we order one of those and it fits with little or no modifications? Does anybody actually have the part number we need for a cat back system?

Thanks,

MIKE

Where did you get the 2.5" Madrel I Pipe. How Much? Part Number?

I got it straight from Dynomax through RaceSearch. However, it seems that I got the last one, and according to Dynomax they don't make them anymore. All the new ones are just compression-bent.

EDIT: I got mine free because it was damaged upon delivery. That's also how I came to find out that they don't make them anymore - after two weeks of trying to get a new one delivered to me, all they kept sending me (4 times) were the compression-bent pieces. (Which are the same part number as the mandrel bent, since they're phasing those out.) I don't happen to remember the part number just now, I'll have to look for it.
