Ok before you jump down my throat and tell me to do a search, I already did, and I didn't find any actual instructions on how to do it.
From what I understand I need to remove the post underneath the MAF. Well how much do I remove before I start having problems? I know if I do too much, I'm gonna have to buy a MAFT+ to get the car to run right. Anyone have any pictures, or how to guides? Thanks.

Not to hijack this thread, but an addition to it. Does anyone have procedures like this for doing the same to the intake manifold? I have heard of people doing it, and would like to learn to do this myself, save myself 150 bucks.
BTW your directions are awesome, I plan on doing this next weekend, at least the polishing. I want to more reasearch on the porting, to see how many people have idle problems and such, running rich.
I did it, then my car ran like crap. So, I put the metal plate that was behind the MAF sensor back on and it runs fine. Just cut off the bottom part of the plate.

I'm willing to bet your running VERY lean at WOT.
you can't just cut out the bottom half and leave the plate on there, the plate MUST come off.. but then when you remove the plate you're going to see that you should just remove the post all together.. bu t because the maf is now all screwed up you need to run a 99+ sensor, then you have to open the top to fit the sensor in.

Is the 99+ sensor just going to fit right into it? or Would I need to fabricate it more to make it fit? And that seems pretty expensive.. Hope I could find a 99+ V6 fbody in a junkyard.
I've got my 97 ported throttle body (post entirely removed) with a brand new 99+ style maf sensor installed for sale for $95+ship or a trade for a 97 STOCK throttle body with no modifications or removed screen or anything and all sensors in perfect shape.
