  • Getting a Cat back, do I need a cat too?

I am about to order a Dynomax Cat back system from Summit, 289-17429. Should I also get a new Catalytic converter too? My Camaro has 100K, would my old cat be worn out by now? How does the stock unit flow anyway? I have the SLP CAI kit, but I probably won't be doing any more mods than that. Anything else to order while I'm at it?

    Thanks,

    MIKE

For an extra 50 bucks, you might as well.

where do i get the s-pipe that goes right after the cat? i am also getting a cat-back system sometime next week, and figured a high-flow cat would be a good idea to go ahead and get--but i don't know where to get an s-pipe. should i get 2.5" inlet on the cat and 3" outlet? my catback is 3". someone help me, i don't know what i'm doing!

Doesn't a "cat back" system include the pipe from the cat to the muffler? Why would a "S" pipe be necessary then?
About the $50 cat, this sounds like a generic from Summit. What legnth and diameters do I order?

            Thanks

cat-back is from the i-pipe back. the s-pipe goes between the i-pipe and the cat. to get a new cat with bigger inlet/outlet, you'd have to get a bigger s-pipe. look in shortdog's sig and that's the exact cat you would need to order.

I had a s-pipe made at the local exhaust guy I use.
