Someone bought an intake like that and showed it off in the lounge a while back. I don't remember who it was or where he got it anymore, but you could try a search for "intake" or something.

And can the FWD intake be turned around to accomodate the type of applications I want to do?

that's only on the bonneville and the park avenue.
on all other 3.8's they're 200hp.
if you were to cut a cross section of the intakes, you would see that ours flow BETTER than the fwd intakes, because of the shape of the ports. if you separate the upper from the lower you will realize this.
Note the protrusions on the Series II intake that are absent from the Series I intake. If anyone comes across a Series I intake manifold, please let me know.

Series 1 intake will not work because the series 1 engine has different heads on it. THe intake ports on the series 1 are differentt than on the series 2.

quote:
Just go out and buy an LS1, eh? Hmm, while I'm at it, I should probably take my Aston Martin for an engine overhaul.
I'm not made of money here, and a Series 1 intake would be something unique and different on an F-Body. Also quite inexpensive if I look around. I'll have the intake ported if it doesn't flow enough at first, but I want it because it's different.

I didn't know LS1s cost as much as an Aston Martin, last time I checked I seen a few go for around 10k, some even less. Since we're talking about performance now, I see no real reason why you would gain so much out of a composite manifold. Which is why I came to the conslusion that you were doing it just for looks. Obviously you must be made of money if you are blowing it on something that isn't going to do anything for you? But yea, hope the intake works wonders for ya.
My point was that I don't have the money to spend on a whole new engine, if I did, I would have by now. I wanted the manifold for the look, and if you read some of the other posts, it is lighter, flows better and absorbs less heat.
However, it won't fit, as someone already said, so there's no use at this point.

It also appears that everyone left out the fact that our termostat is located in intake assembly, this is something that would not be found in the correct place on the series I or II FWD intakes.. just another thought to add to all the mix

for one, No one has ever even tryed and told the tale. Two if the manfold was to infact flow better this would be a NICE upgrade With looks. you know kinda like puling your intake and porting it... then cleaning it.. Pretty much same thing only this would look much nicer than a stock manifold IMO.
But what Do I know I drive an import.
