    I don't think you seem to understand that they do not produce the Series I 3800 anymore. All GM cars that now come with a 3.8L V6 are series II. It is also my understanding that the Series I and Series II are not alike in anyway expect they have the same displacement.

      This just frustrates me.

      Of course I know they don't make them anymore, dummy! They don't make a lot of things, but you can still find them on eBay or in wreckers or even at automotive parts centers because they still exist! GM stops making the F-Body, every single F-Body on the face of the earth does not immediately cease to exist. Same thing goes for the 3800 Series I, and more importantly, its intake.

      If someone on here actually knew a great deal about BOTH engines, that would be nice, so we could get past the theories and speculation and get some cold, hard facts.

        You could try asking about this on one of the grand national message boards. A lot of people on their with GN's also have a car with the series II in it. Plus that board has a few sections for each kind of 3.8. So it's not just f-body's, you could find some input from people with all types of buick/gm 3.8s...
