Buy a Whisper Lid.

To remove the MAF Screen, let the car heat up a bit, use a small screwdriver or needlenose pliers to pull out the little clip on the screen, then carefully pull out the screen.

remove the silencer, take the rubber attachements off, get a 3" 22.5 degree black pvc bend, then put the rubber things on, and attach them with some hose clamps.

i got ambitious with a carbide bit & die grinder & ported out the inside of the pvc pipe.

btw--i AM gonna get a whisper lid, it looks a lot neater & i'm sure is a tad more effective. i just wanted to make sure i liked the new intake sound, before spending $100

I used a small pair of snap ring pliers to get the retaining ring off of the MAF screen. Then I used a small allen key and pushed the short end through the screen and turned it so it "locked" on the back of the screen. Then it just popped out without getting damaged. That way I can put it back in if I ever need to.

          Yes, it helped. ;)
