  • Header question

I called a local shop and told him what I want to put on my car. I told him that I wanted to put the PaceSetter Headers with a magnaflow cat back system on. He told me that the PaceSetter Headers would leak and there of poor quality. Needless to say but the first this I was thinking was why would so many people on the board put them on if they leak and are of poor quality. So my question is would anyone have a problem with there PaceSetter Headers leaking? or any problem at all?????

    Poor quality? Definitely.
    Leak? Not really.

So then what sould I go with or should I even go with headers at all? I was looking at clear image headers are they good? whats the best headers I can get for my 02 bird?

CIAs are the best, but the price is insane. RKSport are ok, but they leak (and I'm not a fan of the company).

If you really want headers, I'd go with the Pacesetters. Just a few things to watch out for when you install them and everything will be fine.

Why do you want headers? With an 02 you've got the tubular manifolds already. If you're not gonna go with a blower or cam or anything, I'd stick with the stock manifolds.

I'm looking for a mean sound and I want it to be non restricted. I though with the headers it will help out flow and all. But if all of the after market headers for a v6 leak I don't want to put them on and have more headakes then what its worth.

Like I said, Pacesetters don't leak. RK Sports do, but Pacesetters and CIAs don't.

I'd stay with the stock Tubular Manifolds...

I got the CAI's. $405, ceramic coated, $455 chrome ceramic. Y pipe $150, gaskets $30, shipping $30. All the nuts and bolts come too. That's why alot of people get pacesetters......

                        Hey Jessica,

Are you having any problems with them leaking??? That's what I'm looking to get soon. But before I do I want to make sure that I'm not going to run into any trouble.

                        Thanks all for the replys

                              It's CIA (Clear Image Automotive)
They are the best quality, but also no one mentioned they have smaller primaries than the RKSPorts or Pacesetters meaning technically they flow less air.

I had RKSports on for years without a leak.

For the Price get Pacesetters and make sure the install is done right.
