If you got a cat back, then you probably have the stock cat. (Unless someone put one on before you) I suggest getting the sim. Some people with the sensor in don't throw ses codes right away, some do, but they eventually surface, i've heard. With headers and a high flow cat you can almost count on it. I'm at about the same place you are on the exaust. I got a magnaflow high flow cat for 68 dollars. I would highly recommend getting it. With headers and a flowmaster exaust, the stock cat would be a bottleneck on a good flowing system like that. Get the sim and the cat, my opinion. The s-pipe is another bottleneck in the stock exaust too.
The guys helping me on mine here told me to get two mandrel bent 45's. Any shop can weld them up for the S.

ok thanks. im taking it to an exhaust shop to see what they think would be best. the flowmaster exhaust setup came on my car when i got it, so i dont really know what else i need to do. thanks though.

also, how much am i looking at $$-wise for a header installation, i called around a few places today and the only quote i got was... 350! (too much)

I have never heard of them, but if you have an automatic, you do not need the air tube that is on it. If you have a manual, then it is Ok. $35o, wow, my last quote for a header install was $500, and that was after about seven calls. No one wants to do it. So I'm just going to do it myself. Alot of people here have, so I thought I'd give it a whirl. I asked a couple of questions and there have been alot of threads here concerning it, so I just did a search on it, and it listed all of them. Pretty cool. Yah, the s-pipe will need to be replaced if you want good flow. The stock one is real restrictive. Any muffler shop can do that I'm told. I just got my cat in the mail today Keep me posted!

Here is the sim:

ok, thanks.

so is 350 not a bad deal for a header install?

350 for a header install on our cars is actually pretty good.. it gets quite cramped in our engine bay and i've read horror stories of people trying to do this in their driveway... if you are very mechanically inclined, go for it. if you even think you might not be able to pull it off, take it to a shop.. course, you do have a newer car so all teh bolts prolly arent rusted on yet (which is a big problem most have faced, especially the manifold studs) if you do it, good luck. if you get in trouble, post here and we'll help ya.. good luck man

i keep finding most places wont install the headers unless i buy the headers from them. and still, the lowest i have on a quote is 350
