  • What kind of power to expect..

I have a 99 Firebird, 3.8 obviously.. I was wondering, if I was to add aftermarket headers to exhaust, what kind of power gains should I expect?

And forget sound, which combo overall, would be the best in terms of power?

    Thanks ahead for any info.

A full open magnaflow type exhaust with no restrictions, 3", and headers, will probably net you around 15-20hp at the crank with a free-flowing intake to match. (On an unmodified engine) You can expect to jump from 170rwhp to around 180 or even 190rwhp at most.

hook some pace setters up to a magnaflow 15620 LT1 94-97 v8 catback. you will enjoy. add a 3x3 high flow cat with rear o2 sensor bung and you will have a very easy total install. the headers will take the most time...

      check out the 15620 hear:

Thanks to both of you for responding.

Grayman, that info is much appreciated. Would that add about the same amount of power as the set-up Dominic informed me of?

If it's in those how to pages, I apologize, I just glanced for the time being. I'm at work. :-/

Your cat is not that restrictive as you think.Get the Headers,Catback and a Cold Air Intake.20 HP and tons of torque are possible.

Yea, that's what I plan to do. What CAI is the best bang for the buck?
