    Whisper Lid $100
    Catbacks run about $400 +
    Mufflers run about $50 +

You need to spend some $

if you dont want to spend alot of money.....ditch the hobby ;)

i would research the free mods that are popular when it comes to the intake side of things. as for your exhaust, i prefer flowmaster. these sort of things are like deodorant, its all about what brand you like. you will have many people tell you many different things about what is best and why.

you dont have a mustang do you? Our cars have a Y-pipe to a single cat and piping to a single muffler. Unless you do a custom exhaust setup, you wont be able to use an H-pipe.

I personally like Magnaflow exhausts. stainless steel construction and one of the more affordable price points.

IMHO, they sound pretty good for a v6. Ive only heard mine with headers. there should be some sound clips on here if you search.

I think I am going to get magnaflow exhaust and a y pipe. How do u think that will do for sound?

Then eventually get new headers and new cam.

It would make a whole lot more sense to get a cat-back exhaust and high flow cat, then eventually get a set of headers that come WITH a Y-pipe.
