ok i know this gets posted up alot but i have a 96 camaro RS of course with the 3.8 and i have flowmaster 80 series on it. i was told by mechanics that if i cut off the cat that it will make it sound high pitch and ricy. then people i work with at an auto store told me that it wont make it sound ricy and high pitch. i know i need O2 sims. but does anyone know the real truth? please help. thanks oh and 1 last thing i want a exaust tip that goes from 1 and splits to two like it has 2 exaust tips on a car will that make it sound bad? anyone know.. thanks again

It's kinda hard to explain exactly how it sounds without a cat. It does get ricey, it kinda sounds like a wet fart. In all honesty, save yourself the embarassment and buy an aftermarket cat if your going to go through all the trouble of putting a straight pipe in place of the cat. Then you won't need an o2 simm, you'll save the environment, your car will sound good, and everyone will live happily ever after.
