It's not so much a comparison between the two. How's the performance with each individually and then how are they when used together? is the FTRA worth the money and is it better than say SLP's CAI?

If you find one used then definately go for the Fast Toys Ram Air. I ended up getting mine for $100 through a mix up kinda but he initially wanted to get $130 which I would have paid if he had wanted. I wouldn't buy one new. The lower ram air plate will be easy to make yourself which I'll be making a new and inproved ram air plate(put sides on it) soon. I may get even more creative and make it more of a funnel down lower and I'll definately put instructions on my website and post here when I get it done. There won't be any pictures for a while though, my roommate went home for the summer and took his digital camera unless I take some with my crappy webcam which I may do.
You have to do more than the free ram air to put in the fast toys ram air. Actually on that part, you just have to cut out a little more and then cut out some of anouther part. As for the performance increase, for what it's worth I gained more than .2 seconds when I added the FTRA and took my cat off and made it 3" all the way to the muffler. See the time slips part of my site for more exact numbers.
Just a small added note, my gain of .2 and 1 mph was over the FRA that I had before I added the FTRA. Before I took the cat off I had the stock cat with the stock S pipe going into a 3" I pipe. Not it's 3" all the way back. I always do mods 2 or 3 at a time, hard to tell what actually helps.

When I added my ram air kit, it took off 3 tenths off my quarter mile times. I'm not saying it will have the same effect to everybody elses car. A few will say that the FRA is just as good, but every car takes mods differently. Grdlock has the FRA and no whisper lid, but he still has a better quarter mile time than me, so to each its own.99 Camaro Z28 A4
R.I.P. 00 Firebird 3.8
14.89 @ 90, 2.03 60\'

well should I purchase the FTRA, or SLP's CAI. Which is better. I do know I can save money by getting the CAI.

The FTRA is more complete. It has the ram air plate with the block off plate(if you wanna cover it when it rains), but the whisper ram air kit is identical to fast toys and is cheaper at tbyrne
