9 outta 10 times I check under my hood, the steel clips that lock down the lid, are unlatched...only happened after I installed the Whisper lid...any hints on making it more secure?

it's prolly not aligned right when you clip it on.

Same problem here. Push it back into those clip slots as far as you can and make sure your air filter is sitting as flat in the space as possible. Mine does this all the time. Just make sure it's all sealed up.1999 Y87 Camaro<br />Whisper Lid, SLP SS Takeoff ExhaustComment

Tape the clips down to the box. i had this problem a while back. I assumed it was a smooth hose i used to the throttle body being to stiff and keeping it from latching. I took thefilter out to check it and put it back on and it has held since. also, make sure that the front lip of the whisper lid is sitting in the groove in the lower intake part. mine didn't fit right for a while until i found that the front lip goes in the groove. now it's a tight fit, but the clips never come undone.2000 pewter firebird<br />Short Throw Shifter, Whisper Lid, Whisper Ram Air, Holley Filter, B&B Triflo, LSD, BMR LCA, STB, PHR, and sway bars (32/21).<br />Power window conversionComment

Just as everyone else here with the whisper lid I've had the same problem. Some weather stripping (1/2" width recommended, double up if you have too. But no more than a double layer) from your local hardware store or "Wally World" applied to the lid(in the areas of the contact to filter base) should solve the problem, mine hasn't come loose yet. It creates a tighter seal, so if your running a CAI you'd get more of your money's worth out of it, plus it would also create a more resistance for the clasps on the filter box. If all else fails, check your lid alignment, as everone else has suggest and maybe add a professional look by safety wiring the clasps in the closed position(just a thought).BLAHHHH!<br /> <a href=\"http://members.cardomain.com/chris98\" target=\"_blank\">http://members.cardomain.com/chris98</a>Comment
