• Ordered my intake setup

I just finished ordering the whisper package with the ram air and the lid for my 98 3.8L. I ordered from tbyrne and i was wondering how long you think it will take to arrive, btw i live in NY. Also will i be pleased with the sound and performance?

thnx

Usually around 3 days for arrival. The lid WILL deepen your exhaust tone underload.

He means "in cabin engine sound"

Your engine will sound more gurgly throaty by far than it does now... a very pleasing tone. Outside the car it won't make a damned bit of difference but thats okay

I am also looking at this set up. When you get it installed, please let me know how you like it. I am also a 99 3.8.

Shiddd, the lid made a difference inside AND outside of my car! When I put my stock lid back on, my exhaust sounded like **** underload (listening to it from the rear with someone else driving).

I added the same combo kit a few months back ... no noticeable difference in performance. Once I had the Edelbrock cat-back on though, it was like driving a different car. How much of that was due to the intake, I don't know.

I dunno bout how much the lid adds. I added the lid first...but I REALLY noticed a differce when I went ahead and sprung for the fast toys ram air kit, espically on the top end, which I can only assume is the same as the one you ordered

Yeah, it'll get rid of that stock neutured mini-washing machine engine bay sound
;) .

I didn't notice crap with the lid, other than a slurping sound at the engine bay and maybe moreo f a gurgle at the exhaust (hard to tell from inside though) when the car is cold. But I think the Ram Air will deepen the exhaust tone.

Thanks 98 Camary...I hope it works well for you. Drive it aggressive a little bit before and after you get the set up to see if you can feel a differnce. Good luck.
