  • headers installed!!!

got my car back from meineke today, $600 for the installation of my ceramic coated pacesetters. the 600 included a 3" in/out Metal'CAT. pics are on my page 4 of the cardomain below.

anyone ever heard of this kind of cat before? i love it. its supposed to be better than the regular high-flow cats, but im sure he was just upselling me. but it worked, and i love it :-D.

    congrats.

question - not trying to sound like a dick, but what is that crap that they sprayed over each one of the exhaust connections? Ive never seen anything like that before.

          (posting for dmw319)

i think its like the stuff they put on there to test for leaks, he said it would fall off within a week. anyways, yea i thought about 3" all around, just gotta save up.

question/problem: when i accelerate super hard, and i get over 40mph, i get like a backfire, hesitation, stalling, type sound from the exhaust. fff dh fff dh fffff... something like that sounding. what could be a possible problem?

how does the car feel after the install considering that you had tubular manifolds. i am getting my headers installed soon and wondering what kind of response you had with them.

i just said, i feel like a stalling/sputtering when i get up into past 40mph. nothing major like a missfire, but idk what it is, im taking it back tomorrow and see if they know whats up.

eh, might be a header leak, it sounds like its misfiring but the sound carries out through the exaust, mabye something is clogged... idk... lol

backfires under acceleration are usually in the intake manifold. backfires under deceleration are usually occur becuase of an exhaust leak.

i agree that is prob a misfire. maybe cause by temp running rich/lean while the computer readjusted to you exhaust flow.
