  • Car making buzzing sound?

Today was the first day that I actually stood behind my car while the engine was running. It made a real nice throaty sound except for one thing. I noticed a "bzzzzzzz" sound. It's not too loud, and you can only hear it when close up to the car. Is this normal with the Flowmaster 80 series mufflers? Has anyone else had this problem?

I have a series 80 with 2.5" pipes and 3" tips but I do not have that problem. It sounds pretty throaty at idle. Did you just install it?

So it's my fuel pump? Can you please elaborate on that.

Electric fuel pumps make a sort of high pitched buzzing noise when they are on. You should be able to hear the exhaust over the fuel pump unles it is going bad.

Oh I can definitely hear the exhaust over the buzzing sound. It's not really that loud at all until I get up close to the car. So it's my fuel pump then? Is there anyway to make the sound go away? If not, I guess I could just live with it. It's not TOO bad.
