  • O2 Heater Circuit

I gutted the heater portion of my passenger O2, don't ask ... any chance I can just jump the two heater wires with a resistor to fool the computer into not throwing a code?
Certainly in some sorta manual it mentions the expected voltages for the heater circuit ...
    Thanks,
    -Rob

Not having the heater hooked up will not throw a code. The heater is only supplied with a 12V current to make the O2 sensor heat up to operating range faster and maintain that operating range.

The computer basically won't care if the O2 is heating up except for the fact that your O2 sensor reading will not be as accurate as before. If you have a high flow exhaust system, you O2 sensors will definitely not get hot enough and you may lose gas mileage and/or performance.

My suggestion would be to keep the O2 heaters intact.

I was reading this code: P0155, according to the scan tool, was: O2 S Heat 21. Remeber, I have OBD-2. I haven't read them recently, it might have cleared itself. I'll see what sorta resistor makes it go away ... but I'm sure it's getting all the heat it needs based on where it's located. (right between header and downpipe by the turbo)

Once in a while I get that code too for some reason. Haven't yet figure out why.
