I was looking at my new Camaro today (99). I noticed there's a large plastic "box", that's attached to the radiator support and hangs down, between the duct from the air filter box, and the duct to the throttle body. What is that plastic thing, a noise baffle, or water collector?

from my research its just a intake silencer, i pulled mine off and replaced it with a 3" diameter pvc coupler and got rid of the baffles all together, made for a great sound from my intake as well as a good boost in powerR.I.P \'99 Firebird, you will be missed<p>New toy - 2001 GSXR-750, Yoshimura Exhaust, Power Commander, Rebuilt Airbox -
Cool, thanks. I pulled the stuff off tonight to do the free ram air mod, and noticed that it was the silencer.
