I'm getting ready to sell my car, so I need to get it smogged. I work in Menlo Park, and I'm trying to find a smog shop in the general area that is known to be friendly and helpful to those of us who mod our cars a bit. I'm not looking for a fraud artist, just somebody who'll let me know if any changes need to be made to pass it, before doing the real test. Thanks.

Any smog only shop, that is they do not do repairs will give you that info,I also am in CA and know what a pain the smog rules are.Just go and ask for a pre-test inspection. They may charge you for it but it's better than being tagged a gross polluter and if it passes the visual and tailpipe inspections you can get your cert right there. What mods have you done that you would be concerned?99 Dodge Quadcab
Traded: 2001 Camaro(will be missed)
Be wary of anything that can bleed for 5 days and live....

I haven't done anything wild, I pulled the noise baffles, cut the air filter box open, and have Accel coils on. That's the visible stuff. I also have the plugs gapped .010" over stock, so I know with everything, the combustion is going to be hotter, and I'm concerned with whether the engine will pass the Nox part. Also, I don't know if the air filter box will be a problem for the visual, but it's in the stock location, it's just opened up in front.
