• What's the difference between the '00+ manifolds?

Is '00 the year they started making different exhaust manifolds? What's the difference? I heard they are better.

They're tubular, basically headers. I'd planned on doing them, but now there's talk about pacesetters, so I'm gonna wait and see.

They're not headers, theyre just designed so that its easier to change the plugs .

What's going on with those pacesetters? Any prices?

So it's just plug access? I do kinda need plug access. I can't get one of them.

So do the 2000 exhaust manifolds flow better than the 99 and below? If so, would these manifolds fit on my 99 3.8?

Which plug? Number 4 right?

They are difficult. Most you have to get under the car to access. With a little time and finger tricks you should be able to get them all.

            Good luck.

I hope these much anticipated pacesetters come out because I'm dying to get some good quality headers that don't cost $670. That is ridiculous considering my brother just got some long tube headers from hooker for his Trans Am for $400!! NEW!! Oh well, I guess we can al dream right? :(

How much would you be willing to give them up for? Did you notice any difference between your RK sport headers and your tubular manifolds? I'm really going for a deeper sound. I have the intake and the borla exhaust and I know headers really don't do a whole lot with respect to HP, so I was just curious on the sound produced. I'm also guessing that I would have to buy gaskets for them too right. Has any one ever put 2000 manifolds on a 99 firebird?? Any responces would be much appreciated.

I believe they flow better. The 2000+ cars do seem to pull better times stock than the 2000- cars.

This has something to do with the fact that GM started putting 3.42 &| LSD in many non-Y87 A4 cars.

Probably also has something to do with the manifolds -- which do make the exhaust note a bit deeper.
